Last Friday we picked up the believers from Manchanatza and went to meet up with Carlos and the group from Naichap to go to another community to pray for a sick woman. It was an awesome experience. The lady has been sick for 2 months. She is a young wife with a couple of children. It was a long way into the jungle and it was a beautiful place. It was a long way off the hwy, and they had street lights. Not normal! So last night we met up with the other group again and went back to pray for the lady again. It was an awesome sight of all of us walking up the hill to the house.( All 20 of us) Pastor Felipe from Manchanatza delivered a wonderfully simple and truthful message of salvation! We all 20 stood around her bed in the dark except for a couple of small candles and prayed for Alicia.
When it was all over, Silvia a lady that is a new believer from Roldos ask if she could be baptized ,so now there is a service being planned. SUPER EXCITING! Rocky and I have been given the opportunity and resources to help Silvia out with food. Her husband was killed about a year ago in a tree cutting accident and she has professed her trust in Jesus since then. She has six children from 3, 5 ,9 ,10 ,12 and 22. Rocky is working on getting electric to her house now.
We were in the grocery store in Qualaqiza this morning and I discovered a new off the shelf food. Wieners!!!! You can buy several foods that are only in the cold section in the states but on the shelf at room temperature here.........milk in a box or bag, yogurt, and now wieners!!!!
We have been home from Qualaguiza about 1 1/2 hous and there is an insistent knock at the gate so Rocky goes out to see who it is and it is 79 year old Pedro. He is back from Shakai. Said he needs to go to the hospital to see Dr. and we say they are not open till Monday so he said can I go upstairs to rest.
WE JUST NEVER KNOW.
